ROBERT SELLONS: Mission Critical Facility Specialist
Robert Sellons is a Mission Critical Facility Specialist with expertise in the special needs of Data Center power and cooling systems. Mr. Sellons has over 25 years in providing infrastructure solutions to business critical facilities requiring high availability of their IT operations. Prior to joining CORE he spent most of his career with Liebert and APC/MGE in various technical roles providing engineered solutions for clients requiring precise temperature/humidity control and non-stop power for their data center and server room applications. Robert is the Senior Application Engineer and “CTO” for CORE and is the technical resource for the CORE Sales Team and engineering oriented client base. He is highly proficient in the application of data center cooling systems, uninterruptible power solutions and power distribution for mission critical requirements. Mr. Sellons is responsible for the CORE Demo Center and technical trainings sessions for CORE clients as well as performing on-site cooling and power assessment visits with the CORE Sales Team. His formal training is in electrical engineering and he has spent many years in product and application training schools with his past employers in precision cooling systems and no-break power systems. In addition to traditional precision cooling he is well versed in high density cooling and heat extraction applications for providing the needs of today’s blade server technology and server virtualization applications.
Ying Vang: Service Sales/Parts Manager
Ying Vang is the Service Sales/Parts Manager for CORE Support Systems. She is responsible for the generation of all after-market service contract proposals for all power and cooling systems represented by CORE. This includes Preventive Maintenance, Emergency On-Site Service, Warranty Extensions, Installations, De-installations and On-Site Electrical Work required by our clients. She also manages the replacement parts, spare parts and battery replacement business for the company. Additionally she is responsible for the Stulz spare parts depot maintained at the CORE Irvine facility. Prior to joining CORE, she worked at APC/MGE for 6 years and held a variety of service sales positions from Call Center Representative to Inside Service Sales Representative. With her knowledge and understanding of the service and parts support functions of service in the UPS and Cooling industries, she is the perfect fit for her position at CORE.
NEIL RISCH: Mission Critical Facilities Specialist
Neil Risch is a Mission Critical Facilities Specialist with a diverse background in construction of large critical facilities. His construction project experience ranges from Medical Centers to Pharmaceutical facilities built to OSHPD standards to state and local government funded Educational facilities with stringent DSA inspection protocol. Prior to joining CORE Mr. Risch worked for a large successful General Contractor requiring his close association with the M.E.P. consulting engineers and the associated sub-contractors on his projects. Mr. Risch continues his association with these key consultants and contractors today in his work with CORE in developing power and cooling solutions for our client base. His experience in working with tight budgets and crucial timelines will serve him well at CORE. Mr. Risch holds a degree in Architectural Engineering from California Polytechnic in San Luis Obispo and is E.I.T. Certified by the Board of Professional Engineers.
PRICE RYAN: Mission Critical Facility Specialist
Price Ryan is a Mission Critical Facility Specialist and brings over 25 years of expertise in high availability facility requirements for both mechanical and power systems to CORE. Prior to CORE, Mr. Ryan invested 10 years in the discipline of design/build where he was responsible for developing and project managing the construction of corporate computer centers, network rooms, co-location facilities and disaster recovery sites. His expertise also includes key consulting services i.e. facility audits and single point of failure analysis both domestically and internationally. Additionally, Mr. Ryan is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Heating and Air Conditioning International and currently holds both General and Mechanical Contracting licenses.
Christopher Curtis: Mission Critical Facility Specialist
Chris Curtis is a Mission Critical Facilities Specialist with a diverse background in Construction Management, MEP Systems and Supply Chain Management. He brings more than 6 years of MEP project management and construction related experience to CORE. Mr. Curtis is a LEED Accredited Professional that understands the importance of sustainability in Mission Critical Facilities and focuses on providing the right design to meet our client’s needs. He started his working career in construction as a Mechanical Contractor installing HVAC systems of various types and capacities in Southern California. His project-focused construction experience grew as Chris worked for two successful General Contractors requiring his close association with the M.E.P. consulting engineers, the associated sub-contractors and multiple manufacturers and vendors on his projects. Mr. Curtis continues his association with these key consultants and contractors today in his work with CORE in developing power and cooling solutions for our client base. Mr. Curtis’ project experience includes various Tenant Improvement, Public and Government Funded Projects, K-12 and Higher Educational Buildings to Medical facilities projects built to OSHPD standards. Mr. Curtis’ experiences as a mechanical contractor, construction management professional and procurement expert will serve him well in his work at CORE Support Systems.
SHARON TYE: Vice President – Operations Sharon Tye
is the Vice President – Operations for CORE Support Systems. She is responsible for all inside operations at CORE including the proposal generation system and overall support of the CORE sales staff and for direct communication with and support of the customer. Ms. Tye and her staff handle the proposal system, client data base, order entry, order tracking and customer follow up activities to assure that CORE delivers each item of every order to the customer’s satisfaction. All accounting functions including payables, receivable and payroll are also under her management. Ms. Tye began her career with CORE in 1997 and has been in the computer support systems industry for over 15 years. She has held responsible management positions in sales administration, marketing and sales support. Her field sales experience as a direct factory sales representative for Liebert Corporation selling UPS, power distribution, precision cooling, security and monitoring systems makes her uniquely qualified for the position she holds with CORE. Prior to her entry into the mission critical equipment field Ms. Tye held the position of Marketing Account Specialist for Nortel Networks dealing with telecommunication products. She is a 1985 graduate of U.C. Berkeley.
RICK BROTHERTON, v2.0: Vice President – Marketing
Rick Brotherton, v2.0 is Vice President of Marketing for CORE Support Systems. Mr. Brotherton brings 16 years of marketing and branding expertise to CORE. With CORE since its inception, he has been responsible for all aspects of CORE’s marketing including creating the company name and brand identity. He has created successful marketing and brand strategies for companies ranging from start-ups with a great idea to nationally recognized institutions looking to grow the power of their brand. His specialty is formulating, creating and building results driven branding and marketing campaigns. Mr. Brotherton is a 1992 graduate of California State University Long Beach and holds degrees in Fine Arts and Marketing.
RICK BROTHERTON, v1.0: President and Managing Partner
Rick Brotherton is President and managing partner of CORE Support Systems and brings more than 40 years expertise to CORE. Mr. Brotherton has spent his entire professional career in the high availability systems arena primarily with power systems (UPS) and computer room air-conditioning (CRAC) systems. He began his career with Lorain Products Corporation (now an Emerson Electric product division) as a product designer in the DC to AC inverter design group. Mr. Brotherton was responsible for various engineering assignments and held several management positions before leaving in 1976 to join Exide Electronics (now Powerware) in the three-phase UPS and stationary battery field. In 1983, he was recruited by Liebert Corporation where he accepted the challenge represented by a key management position. He went on to build a new California based organization in 1986 for Liebert that significantly increased the market share of the operation before leaving in 1996 to launch CORE Support Systems. Mr. Brotherton’s extensive expertise in the high availability systems field includes engineering, manufacturing, sales & marketing and senior management positions that have provided the experience that drives CORE today. Specializing in the LA area since 1987, he is particularly well known in the Southern California marketplace with both the Mechanical and Electrical engineers and contractors. Mr. Brotherton holds degrees in electrical engineering and business/finance management and is a member of both IEEE and ASHRAE.
